Assistant Accountant

Interaction Accountancy and Finance are actively recruiting on behalf of a small local business in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join their team as part of a restructure - based near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the typical duties would include:

• Leading the production of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and variance analysis
• Posting of accruals, prepayments and journals
• Maintain fixed asset register and post depreciation
• Reconciling control accounts
• Sales Ledger - mainly credit control
• Cashflow forecasting
• Bank reconciliations
• VAT returns
• Support in processing monthly payroll  
• Adhoc duties to support a small team

Applications are welcomed from individuals with the following skills and experience:

• Previous accounts experience within a small business environment is essential
• Experience of day to day finance duties
• Ability to produce management accounts would be desirable
• Team player with a flexible attitude
• Excellent communication skills are essential
• IT Literate, especially Microsoft Excel and Sage

Due to location, your own transport is essential as there are no public transport options to their location.

This is an office based role, working 9-5 Monday to Friday with interviews taking place imminently
