The post holder will be responsible for leading the operational team across all sites, driving the highest safety standards and achieving contract performance whilst delivering excellent customer service to ensure a safe and supported experience for public visitors to the sites. Continuously develop safety instructions and procedures, reporting any unsafe practices, accidents or incidents.Ensure that the Recycling Centres and Transfer Stations meet or exceed the customer (Public, District, Borough, and County Councils) service expectations of the clientPlay an active role within the contract's management team to promote safety and identify areas in need of improvementResponsibility for the implementing and reviewing of measures to improve recycling rates across all Recycling Centres and Transfer StationsMaintain procedures to ensure compliance with all legal requirements applicable to your areas of responsibility, including compliance with all permits, licences and consent conditions at all times.Carry out accurate and Annual Performance Reviews of all those directly reporting to you.Manage resource utilisation across Recycling Centres & Transfer Station network.Ensure compliance with contractual performance criteria.Ensure quality control at Recycling Centre and Transfer Stations for all incoming recyclate feedstock.Develop immediate reports, developing skills and knowledge to ensure that your direct reports can manage their responsibilities and step up to assist youManage cost expenditure in line with budget targetsAvailable by telephone for emergency call out with response where required. Requirements Here's what we require:
Relevant business qualification IOSH certificate or equivalent formal safety qualification.Experience of working within the Waste Industry or related role within the waste, transport, or engineering industries.Have experience of managing change in the workplaceWaste operations, material processing, transport/logistics knowledge.Motivate, engage, and lead operational teams to maximise individual and team performance.
