Arabic Speaking Learning Support Assistant

Location: Westminster - Kensal Green

Job type: Long-term, temporary

Start date: ASAP

End date: July 2024

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4pm

Pay: �85 - �100 per day

Are you passionate about supporting children's learning journeys? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Arabic Speaking Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and diverse primary school in Westminster. As a 2-form entry school, the school are committed to inclusivity and celebrate their ethnically diverse community. Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 5 child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assist with EAL needs and encourage positive communication skills
  • Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and understanding English language concepts.
  • Utilise Arabic language skills to facilitate communication and comprehension.
  • Implement strategies to promote the child's social integration and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor the child's progress and provide regular feedback to the SENCO and parents/carers.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Arabic language is essential.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Understanding of inclusive teaching practices and strategies to support children's mental wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, patience, and resilience to meet the diverse needs of the child and adapt to changing situations.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN, or child development is desirable.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
