Salary range: £49,083 - £52,116 p.a. inc. London weighting
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time
It’s an exciting time to be joining Brent’s Adult Social Care service as we implement an ambitious transformation programme.
As a result, we have some fantastic opportunities for established Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to join one of our teams.

About the role
As an Approved Mental Health Professional at Brent Adult Social Care, you’ll respond to individuals requiring formal or informal support as described in the Mental Health Act.
This is a great time to be joining the service, as the progression of our Approved Mental Health Professionals into senior roles has created new opportunities in teams such as Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Hospital Discharge, and Access and Information.
You’ll work to a strength-based approach to promote the independence, interests, and rights of our residents and their families.
Across our Adult Social Care service, we strive to deliver a culture of working together, positive risk-taking, and accountability. Our core aim is to support our residents to be influential, active members of our community.
As part of your Continued Professional Development you can choose a pathway to support your career interests and ambitions, alongside development into management positions. Opportunities are also available to train as a Best Interest Assessor or Practice Educator, enhancing our frontline operational offer to our residents.
About you
You will be a trained Approved Mental Health Professional and registered with Social Work England. You will also have experience of working within a social care or community-focused multi-disciplinary setting.
It is also essential to have a good understanding of the Mental Health Act, Capacity Act, and Adult Social Care legislation. You will have the opportunity to put this legislation into action, further enhancing your skills to support and empower our service users to live meaningful lives within the community.
You will be able to work independently to deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances, as well as demonstrate skills in:
Communication
Prioritisation
Caseload management
Time management
Multi-disciplinary working
We will provide training for an exceptional candidate who cannot demonstrate all of the above criteria.

The department brings together a range of services and support. This enables us to have a clear focus on accommodation as a building block for long-term wellbeing and independence, as well as deliver genuinely multi-disciplinary working for people of any age with more complex needs.
