Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our team in Carlisle.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in performing statutory duties under the Mental Health Act, working within a multidisciplinary team to assess and support individuals experiencing mental health crises.
Key Responsibilities:
Statutory Duties: Undertake Mental Health Act assessments and prepare Social Circumstances Reports for Mental Health Tribunals.
Crisis Response: Collaborate with the Joint Response Unit, providing acute mental health assessments in the community alongside police colleagues.
Social Supervision: Manage cases involving individuals subject to conditional discharge from the Ministry of Justice.
Shift Work: Participate in a 24/7 shift pattern, including on-call duties, to ensure continuous mental health support.
Collaboration: Work closely with the First Response Service to provide guidance, clinical advice, and support during mental health crises.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Must be a qualified AMHP with experience in mental health crisis intervention.
Experience: Proven track record in a similar role, with strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act and related statutory responsibilities.
Skills: Excellent communication, assessment, and intervention planning skills. Ability to work flexibly, including beyond normal working hours when required.
