WAREHOUSE AND WORKSHOP APPRENTICE

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our clients team as a Stores & Workshop Apprentice. This role involves assisting with the functional testing of equipment, mechanical assembly, and maintaining efficient stock handling. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the workshop and stores operations, ensuring accuracy and safety in all tasks.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Use hand tools for mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Assist with mechanical assembly and hardware mounting, including drilling, tapping, and cutting.
  • Prepare cables and connectors for terminating.
  • Assist with the assembly and wiring of 19" panel systems.
  • Conduct functional testing of equipment in the workshop.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workshop environment, adhering to all QHS&E procedures.
  • Keep accurate workshop records, including field service call activity and test specifications.
  • Support the Stores Supervisor in maintaining stock records and efficient Goods Inwards/Outwards procedures.
  • Update warranty and other databases as required.
  • Participate in stock takes and cycle counting.
  • Assist with facilities support, equipment movement, and minor maintenance tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Good level of secondary education, literate and numerate.
  • Physically capable of handling loads.
  • Computer literate with accurate inputting skills.
  • Ability to learn new computerised tasks quickly.
  • Flexible and trustworthy in handling company equipment.
  • Forklift awareness and safe practice knowledge (training provided).
