Working Week: Mon-Fri Brief DescriptionTake the first step into a career in software development! In this role you will work towards a Foundation Degree in Digital Innovation to the Level 4 Software Developer Standard with an optional 3rd year of study to top up to a full BSc Degree Apprenticeship (Digital Technology Solutions Professional).Qualifications Required• You must be available to start with us on April 2n#####24 and available for the 5-week launchpad which starts on Monday 8th Apr#####024.• You’ll need to have full right to work in the UK, and you must be based (& living) in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship.• You must be 18 or older as of Ap#####2023 and not in full time education.• You’ll need to meet the standard eligibility requirements for apprenticeships in England (including having lived in the UK or EEA for the last three years).• You’ll need to have a Grade 4/ Grade C or higher in GCSE Maths & English. If you studied outside of the UK you can use a statement of comparability but it will need to reach an equivalent grading.• Unfortunately, you must have no existing formal qualifications (degree, HND etc.) at the same or higher level in a similar subject. (e.g. Computer Science degree)Skills Required• That you have a genuine desire and interest for a career in software engineering!• We’re not looking for qualifications, but you’ll need to have a basic/intermediate knowledge of programming and software development, either through your education or from personal projects. We’ll be looking for you to demonstrate this on your application.• The role is well suited to those who have completed a bootcamp or similar learning. It’s an opportunity to build on those fundamentals that you will have learned. If you’ve done a bootcamp or similar, then please shout about it on your application.• We’ll be looking for you to show that you enjoy working in teams and collaborating with others.Training to be ProvidedStudy the Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship with Ada, National College for Digital Skills.Future ProspectsOver the course of this programme, you will spend approximately 20% of your time training with Ada, The National College for Digital Skills, through a blend of remote and face to face training at their campus.The rest of your time will be working in engineering teams at Moneysupermarket group, helping to build, test, deploy and maintain services used by millions of people across the UK. You will join us for a week on onboarding, and then begin your course with Ada on Monday 8th April 2024.We will be holding an assessment day on Tuesday 20th February 2024, and you will need to be available for an in-person assessment on this date.What can I expect when I start?Start with your induction with Moneysupermarket Group and then begin your initial 6 weeks of training with Ada college.Within 3 months you’ll be:• Building relationships with your line manager and mentors.• Meeting with your team and peers, building relationships and learning how we work.• Diving into our technology & our products by coding with engineers in the team.• Doing supplemental training, supported by your mentors and peers.• Learn how we operate, our principles, history and where we’re heading.Longer term you’ll:• Collaborate with all members of your team and work hands-on through all stages of software development delivery.• Continue to develop and grow your ability to start to contribute more to team delivery.• Spend 20% of your time (in 1 week blocks) training with Ada.• Once you’ve completed the initial two-year programme, you’ll graduate and have the option of an additional third year of study.I’d love to know more:• Find out more about our product and technology teams here.• We’ll be hosting a call to explain more about our apprenticeship schemes. We use a guide of 40% of the time on-site for collaboration. For our Tech, Product & Design teams collaboration time is Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office.
