Application Support Specialist (Glasgow Hybrid)

Head Resourcing is pleased to be working with one of the UK's leading pensions and mutual funds companies who have a requirement for an experienced Application Support Analyst to join their team in Glasgow.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line assistance by acknowledging and analyzing support requests made to the IT Development Team on a daily basis.
  • Take appropriate action to resolve support requests promptly.
  • Escalate more complex requests to 2nd Line Support while providing relevant triage information.
  • Write SQL scripts to assist in basic analysis of problems reported.
  • Execute SSIS packages as part of routine support tasks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Monitor and address failures within automated processes.
  • Work closely with Developers and Specialists within the Development team.
  • Provide regular reporting on Business As Usual (BAU) requests and resolutions to the Development team.

Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required:

  • Previous experience working in a development support team.
  • Proficiency in SQL with a good understanding of SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Agent, and SSIS error handling.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks, working through to resolution.
  • Familiarity with Life/Pensions products is desirable.
  • Awareness or experience with Sonata Financial Systems software is also desirable.

HYBRID
