Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust Cancer, Haematology, Urology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery Anticoagulation Service Permanent, Full-time/ Part TimeMain duties of the jobAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Anticoagulation Nurse Specialist to work as a member of our established Haematology Team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. We are seeking an experienced registered nurse, ideally with knowledge and skills in the management of patients receiving anticoagulants to join our team of clinical nurse specialists. About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust: descriptionJob responsibilitiesYou will be supported by highly experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists in the care and management of patients on anticoagulants by supporting patients and their family at the point of initiation and long term management of patients with complex anticoagulant needs. This will include participating in the Multi-disciplinary team, delivery of an In-Reach service across the three hospital sites, supporting medical colleagues in the safe use of anticoagulation therapy across the various disciplines, nurse led clinics and providing education to staff members across UHL. This is a challenging role and you will need to have excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills and the ability to foster good working relationships, offering care in a kind and compassionate manner. The ideal candidate will be an experienced nurse with the ability to work autonomously with support from the multi-disciplinary team. You will be able to demonstrate recent experience of caring for patients on anticoagulation therapies and an understanding of current treatment modalities associated around anticoagulation. The team is focused on changing services to enhance the delivery of patient care. You would be supported both clinically and in personal education needs. RN with current NMC PIN Recognised-NMC teaching& assessing qualification or equivalent

Degree in Health related subject
