South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust The post holder will bean active member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), undertakingroutine personal care activities for patients, for example, bathing,toileting, dressing, supporting with meals and refreshments, andassisting patients with their appearance. These activities may involveestablishing basic patient/client information, for example, age,weight, height, fluid, nutrition input and output, which the postholder will update in the patient records. They will escalate anyconcerns to the appropriate registered professional.Main duties of the jobThe post holder has apersonal responsibility and duty of care to patients/service users;they are expected to comply fully with all Trust policies andprotocols, including those related to patient safety and theprevention of healthcare associated infections. Ability toadopt appropriate styles and methods of communication.Basic IT skills to use electronic patient records and other Trustsystems to update basic patient information from personal care andassociated activity.QualificationsNumeracyand Literacy Level 2Vocational qualification level 2 inhealth and social care or Equivalent level 2 demonstrable experiencein personal care and related procedures.Must complete thecare certificate within the 6 months probationary period and on thejob training; instruction will be provided this is an NHS entry levelrequirement.ExperienceExperience of working ina care role.Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)It is now the policy of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trustthat all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who requireDBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to paythe cost of their DBS.
