Job Description
Permanent Contract | £34,834 to £36,648 per annum (Scale I) | 37 hours per week | Norwich
Norfolk County Council are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services countywide to Norfolk residents. We take a lead in critical policy areas, and we work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities in order to provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.
Our Digital Services Department provides the technology infrastructure, data management and user support that enables Norfolk County Council employees to work as efficiently and effectively as possible, which in turn delivers better outcomes for Norfolk residents and businesses. Working across a broad portfolio of products and systems, the service is responsible for all aspects of design, development, testing, integration, support and security, ensuring that we remain forward thinking and adaptable in the constantly evolving technical world.
We are looking for an IT professional to join the Application Management Team who has the knowledge and experience to support applications used within Norfolk County Council, including critical applications used by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
The successful candidate will be required to:
Provide professional support of software applications to meet the customer requirements.
Able to work with customers along with members of the Digital Services teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
Be a technical lead for application projects, deploying new integrations, migrations and upgrades; maintaining a stable and reliable service.
Create comprehensive detailed documentation, ensuring the knowledge base, CMDB and applications register is kept up to date.
Able to work autonomously, prioritising while balancing both businesses as usual day-to-day tasks and major projects.
Advantageous Skills:
Microsoft IIS and SQL Server.
Fire service knowledge.
Ideally, you will have some experience of supporting a variety of applications, but most importantly we are looking for someone who is keen to learn and expand their knowledge and skills.

You will be a team player who is focused, organised, enthusiastic, flexible in your approach, and proactive in your attitude as well as being committed to delivering first class levels of support. You will be customer focused, able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve and act calm under pressure.
The postholder will be expected to work outside of core office hours when required and provide cover as part of an 'on-call' rota, supporting critical applications used by Norfolk County Council and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
