Anaesthetics nurse/practitioner Anaesthetics nurse/practitioner Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday with some Saturday shifts as required. Qualifications Registered General Nurse with NMC Registered Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC Experience A minimum of 2 years Clinical experience as an anaesthetic, scrub, or recovery Theatre Practitioner. Evidence of continuous professional development and its application Skills Demonstrable knowledge and skills in a variety of specialties. With will include General, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Plastics and Orthopaedics. Patient focussed, able to deliver high level of customer service Sound written, numerical, and verbal communication skills Sound computer skills using MS Office Suite and PAS Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required. Enthusiasm for cross-functional working, such as day care Anaesthetic practitioner Main Responsibilities: Support the Theatre team in the care of patients prior to and during surgery Provide a comprehensive handover at change of shift to colleagues Undertake all safety checks to a high standard, documenting as per procedure Assess patient care requirements, implementing and evaluating outcomes Ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control Ensure that all documentation relating to patient care is within the boundaries of the national and hospital guidelines for good record keeping Ensure that all incidents, accidents, and near misses are appropriately recorded and reported. Participate in investigations and implement changes to practice Ensure that own practice and the practice of others is within an ethical and legal framework. Proactively participate in capturing revenue Understand the Clinical Governance process and actively participate in all processes. Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained. Support with mentoring junior members of the team, assessing competencies, as well as supporting and identifying individual training needs.
