Vetro Education are seeking to recruit dedicated ALN Teaching Assistants who have experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs, specifically ASD, Aspergers and ADHD. This secondary school in the Morriston area of Swansea provides education to pupils in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form and they have instructed Vetro Education to provide ALN Teaching Assistants who can work on a full time, part time and ad hoc basis.
As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will allow you to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.
Overview:

  • Title: ALN Teaching Assistant
  • Pay: £75.90 per day minimum
  • Location: Morriston, Swansea
  • Hours: Full time, Part time and Ad Hoc roles available - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a ALN Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, ADHD, Aspergers or Challenging Behaviour
  • Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
  • Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies


The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a ALN Teaching Assistant

  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN/ALN setting would be beneficial
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
