Airfreight Import Coordinator - Birmingham - Permanent Role - Minimum 3 years of Airfreight experience is ESSENTIAL

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:30, 60-minute break

Silver Arrow are currently recruiting for an Airfreight Import Coordinator based in Birmingham on a permanent basis

Your Role:

  • Creating and maintaining customer-standard operating procedures
  • Having a clear financial understanding of each job file(s) within your remit
  • Providing accurate and timely reports to the department manager
  • Having ownership and taking accountability to deliver operational excellence
  • Ensuring that a 'customer is king' ethos is always applied in actions for the business
  • Delivering accurate and timely paperwork in relation to the creation and issuance of import documentation
  • Demonstrating commercial acumen and an in-depth understanding of the P&L of a job
  • Freighting and Invoicing
  • Creating operational reports and ensuring that anomalies are escalated appropriately
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, airlines, and overseas partners and agents
  • Ensuring that Metro's policies and procedures are adhered to

What we need from you:

  • Industry and operational knowledge of Airfreight
  • Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise - preferable)
  • Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
  • May be required to work some overtime and/or be flexible in start/finish times (during busier times!)
