Job Title: Agile Coach [Contract - DevOps & Agile Transformation Engagement]
Report To: Agile People Manager
Job Location: Remote / London (right to work in the UK required)
Employment Status: Full Time
Contract: April - December 2024
Who is ControlPlane?
We are a London based cloud technology company, helping to keep people safe online. We work with cloud providers and their customers to secure the building blocks of the internet, by offering consulting, training and products related to cloud native development, security and operations.
ControlPlane’s priority is to continue to be a leader in the Kubernetes and Cloud DevSecOps space. We secure the next generation of software systems and provide a clear, risk-based adoption guide for organisations looking to implement best practices.
Trusted by Google Cloud, UK Home Office, JPMC, among many others, our clients are world leading organisations.
What does this Agile Coaching role entail?
We are looking for a personable and talented Agile Coach to work on a consultancy engagement with a client in North America that provides services to the government.
Working alongside another Agile Coach and DevSecOps specialist, you will support a Cloud team in the infrastructure space in their continuous improvement journey. First understanding and reporting on the current state, you will then help them define success over multiple time horizons and work with teams on incremental improvements until the end of the year.
You will also join a vibrant team of Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters at ControlPlane that work on a variety of client engagements and come together to share learnings and insights.
The ideal candidate is full of empathy, a master in building client relationships, a great communicator, and an expert in facilitating and measuring experiments to help teams get closer to shared outcomes. They will also be comfortable in highly technical environments and capable of distilling important information amongst technical peers.
This engagement will require you to get in the weeds and support the client in bringing improvements to life, and therefore we are looking for someone for whom initiative and execution of this kind are second nature, with experience in utilising both coaching and consulting stances.
This a remote position and the majority of your team members on the engagement will live outside of the UK. You are welcome, however, to join us in our London office when desired.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Deep experience and understanding of applying the Agile principles
Can speak to a track record of success in Agile transformation client engagements
Are happy working with “government-minded,” traditionally structured companies
Have an abundance of patience and perseverance to bring changes to fruition
Are able to act with total discretion and diplomacy and show sound judgment in responding to complex circumstances
Are an excellent communicator and committed to providing exceptional visibility on the engagement to others at ControlPlane
Are able to provide clear examples of:
Successful engagement with people across organisations, from senior stakeholders to individual contributors, on Agile initiatives
Bringing people with different ideas and perspectives on a continuous improvement journey together
Defining value - both outcomes and metrics - alongside teams and stakeholders
Facilitating experiments, generating metrics, validating hypotheses, and reporting on progress toward outcomes
Are excited about contributing to a team of Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters at a small yet cutting-edge cloud security company
It would be even better if you:
Have experience applying Evidence-Based Management with organisations and teams
Have experience in the Cloud, DevOps and/or infrastructure space
Are actively engaged with the wider Agile and/or DevOps community as a part of your continuous learning
Please note that with this contract position, you will quickly be part of a high-importance client engagement, and therefore, this position is not suitable for relatively junior candidates who are looking for more mentorship and support. If this is you, please keep your eye out for other positions in the future.
We believe our peers are equally as important as the technology we use. We’re looking for people of the highest personal calibre, quietly confident, with a good work ethic, keenness to learn, emotional maturity and respect, who know that “we” is more than “me”, and who embrace human diversity of all kinds. As we grow you will help us to build a company culture of which we can all be proud. If you espouse these values, we want you!
NOTE FOR RECRUITMENT AGENCIES: Please do not call or email our team speculatively; we do not accept unsolicited CVs.
