Job Description
The Office of the Advocate General, (a UK Government department comprising the UK Government's Scottish Legal Team based at Queen Elizabeth House, Edinburgh EH8 8FT) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their Advisory and Legislation Division as an Advisory Lawyer. As an Advisory Lawyer, you will have the opportunity to provide legal advice to the UK Government on Scots Law and devolution, gain exposure to the workings of Whitehall, and understand how the UK and Scottish Governments interact to deliver legislation, policy, and public services in Scotland.

Contract Details
This is a 12-month initial contract with the possibility to extend that period up to 23 months. The working hours are 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Office of the Advocate General currently operates a hybrid working model. All staff are expected to attend the office when business needs require and to spend at least 40% of their working time in the office (measured over a 4-week period). This role will also require occasional travel to London to attend training events and cover parliamentary debates on Scotland Act orders.
