Job DescriptionJob Title: Advanced Practitioner - Adult Social CareRate of Pay: up to £36.00 per hour (Inside IR35)Hours: 37 hours per weekLocation: OldburyStart Date: ASAPContract type: Temporary (Agency) 12 weeks with a view to extendWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our Adult Social Care team in Sandwell. The successful candidate will be a registered qualified social worker with substantial managerial experience working within adult Community Social Work Teams (CSWTs) or Learning Disability, Autism, and Young Adults Teams.Key Responsibilities:Manage the day-to-day activities of the team and support the management team in improving key performance and standards within the service area.Actively contribute to service delivery, ensuring alignment with the developing focus of Adult Social Care in Sandwell and supporting change and transformation.Implement relevant policies and procedures, and cover/deputise for Team Managers within Adult Social Care when needed.Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, Government initiatives, and safeguarding practices related to vulnerable adults or young people transitioning to adulthood.Foster excellent relationships for effective partnership working and promote integration within and outside the council.Hold budget responsibility at an agreed approval level, ensuring services are delivered within resources and identifying external revenue opportunities.Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to less experienced social work colleagues, focusing on developing their skills and knowledge.Act as a consultant within the team on good practice, emerging research, case law, and relevant policy changes.Manage a small number of complex cases, demonstrating advanced expertise and knowledge.Requirements:Registered qualified social worker with substantial managerial experience in adult CSWTs or Learning Disability, Autism, and Young Adults Teams.Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, and Government initiatives related to vulnerable adults or young people transitioning to adulthood.Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.Experience in budget management and identifying revenue opportunities.Ability to maintain emotional resilience when working with challenging behaviours and attitudes.Enhanced DBS with Children's and Adults Barring List Check.
