Adult Social Care Lawyer

Job DescriptionOur client, based in the North West, is currently recruiting for a locum Adult Social Care Lawyer on an initial 3-month temporary contract.The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The successful candidate can work on a remote basis, with the requirement to attend the courts/office in the Manchester area once a week. The hourly rate on offer for this role is up to £55 p/h UMB, subject to level of experience.The ideal candidate will have experience handling high volume caseloads of Adult Social Care matters in the Local Authority setting, and experience conducting advocacy in Court of Protection matters.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Advising the Council on a range of Adult Social Care matters and mental health issuesHandling a varied caseload of adult social care matters, including care management and assessments, mental capacity, mental health, asylum, immigration and adult safeguardingUndertaking advocacy in the Courts and representing the council in Court of ProtectionProviding advice under the Mental Health Act 1983, including displacement of nearest relative, deprivation of liberty, place of safety, s117 aftercareExperience required:Experience required in Local GovernmentExperience in Adult Social Care lawWorking hours:35 hours per weekMonday – FridayPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
