Fixed Term until 31st March.RoleThe Active Travel Events Officer will plan and oversee the successful delivery of events promoting sustainabletravel.The post holder will directly support the Active Travel Team, and they will also engage with community groups andminority groups. They will plan specific key events to engage the local community and promote cycling.Developing strong partnerships with individuals, and community-based services are key to this role. The type ofevents will include, but are not limited to film nights, jumble sales, marketing stalls, led rides stopping forcoffee and cake, speaker events, and family cycle sessions.Application notes All appointments will be confirmed onlyupon receipt of satisfactory references. The Active Travel Coordinator will oversee the successful delivery of biking projects and cycle training. The postholder will directly support people with their training, and they will also engage with community groups andminority groups. They will also manage the coordination of training in a wide range of settings which willinclude on-road cycle training, group rides, and e-cargo bike training. Developing strong partnerships withindividuals, and community-based services are key to this role. They will also engage with professional driverssupporting training in cycle awareness.The Women and Non-binary Coordinator will oversee the successful delivery of the specific projects and cycle trainingfor this group.The post holder will directly support women and non-binary people with their training, they will also engage withcommunity groups and other minority groups.They will also manage the coordination of training in a wide range of settings which will include on-road cycletraining, group rides and e-cargo bike training. This can be ahome-based role but will require regular travel to the National Autistic Society Scotland’s office in Glasgowand the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will work to influence government policy and create positive change forautistic people and their families.The successful candidate will raise awareness of National Autistic Society Scotland amongst key politicalstakeholders, develop and deliver the organisation’s public affairs activity, and support the development of thestrategic relationships we need to influence nationally. The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will also workalongside the Media and Communications Officer to support campaigning activities in Scotland and promote ourpublic affairs activity to external audiences.The successful candidate must have proven understanding of policy or parliamentary work, including knowledge ofgovernment and parliamentary structures. They must be comfortable analysing information, grasping complex policyissues and communicating these in an accessible way. They should be educated to degree level in an appropriatediscipline or have a proven track record in the policy or political field.
