Acoustics Survey Technician / Technical Consultant

As one of the UK’s leading acoustic consultancies founded in 1984, we have been responsible for a large number of high-quality buildings and take great pride in our work. We are looking to take on a new member of the team who can support the current team with carrying out acoustics surveys.
About the role
The Technician will be involved in the acoustics survey procedures from start to finish. This will initially be supporting consultants and eventually carrying out of surveys on their own. We predominantly carry out environmental and building acoustics surveys. You will typically spend time;preparing equipment, travelling to site, liaising with clients, deploying equipment, carrying our measurements in good practice based on our training, collecting equipment and processing data into technical reports.
The role is a hybrid mixture of working at home with some office days and site visits fortesting/inspections. Our testing kit is stored at our office in Brixton, London.
Your qualifications/Job specification
Degree in Acoustics
Self-motivated, confident, communicative and pro-active
Existing knowledge of Building Regulations or construction industry guidelines would be beneficial
Knowledge of basic electronics and audio would be an advantage
Excellent time management and calendar management skills
Flexibility with starting and finishing times, including potential overnight stays away from company premises with all company-related expenses covered
Excellent attention to detail
Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Word, and Excel with good data collation skills
Strong report writing skills
Full clean UK driving licence
Familiarity with noise/vibration measurement instrumentation would be considered an advantage
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Willing to undertake pre-completion sound insulation testing once qualified
