Alternative Heat design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.
Role Overview:As the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in managing the accounts payable function within our organisation. You will report into the Finance Manager / HoF and support the wider finance team. You will lead a team of 3 staff members responsible for accurately processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely payments. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with various departments to streamline processes, implement new key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive efficiency across the accounts payable function.| Job Title | Account Payable Team Leader | Location | Head Office - Banbridge | Hours | Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm | Salary | Competitive Depending on Experience | Responsible to | Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the accounts payable function and ensure timely and accurate
processing of invoices and payments
Develop and monitor performance metrics for the AP team
Setting and facilitating the achievement of team objectives
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes for accounts payable
Review month end supplier reconciliations and approve the weekly and monthly payment runs.
Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and stores, to ensure prompt resolution of queries and timely and accurate payment of invoices
Review and approval of company credit cards transactions
Provide guidance on financial transactions to the operational team and ensure compliance when posting and transacting foreign invoices for both UK & ROI entities
Maintain and develop accounts payable policies and ensure standard operating procedures are up to date
Monitor and analyse accounts payable processes and recommend improvements
to increase efficiency and accuracy
Train and develop the team, including setting performance goals and
conducting performance evaluations and supporting personal development
Assist with audits and provide relevant documentation and support as needed
Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseEssential Criteria:
Minimum 3-5 years transactional finance experience in medium organisations
Experience working across entities including foreign based ones.
Excellent data manipulation and Excel skills
Attention to detail, take pride in the quality and accuracy of their work.
Diligent and hard working
Confident working under pressure
Positive, can-do attitude
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in Microsoft Power BI
AAT Technician Level with proven experience in the finance function
Experience of designing and implementing new reporting / management information in an efficient manner
History of implementing change within a function you have managed
Dealing with German transactions
Construction industry experience
