Accounts Payable Team Leader
Job Type: Full-timeLocation: Cambridge (hybrid)Salary: £35,000-£42,000 We are working with a large Cambridge based technology company who are looking to appoint an Accounts Payable (P2P) Team Leader to oversee their regional shared service centre’s procure to pay function. The successful candidate will manage and drive high-performing,
standardised service delivery with effective controls, ensuring strong customer service. This role also involves supporting the implementation of continuous improvement programmes within finance. Day to day of the role:
Manage and optimise the performance and commitment of a small, high-performing team by setting goals and agreeing on objectives.Adapt and flex workload and team movements to maintain high levels of customer service across the SSC, managing working hours to cover Regional time zones.Maintain close relationships with customer/stakeholder groups, monitor team performance, provide issue resolution, and agree on improvement plans.Contribute to continuous improvement programmes to embed best practices and deliver efficiencies.Standardise and document P2P processes, utilising KPIs to demonstrate service delivery and exceed service levels.Ensure compliance with all policy and legal requirements, minimising risk to the business.Maintain the integrity of financial records, raising issues with any deviations.Oversee vendor relationships, invoice processing and resolution, month-end closing activities, and vendor statement reconciliation.Handle travel and expense processing, payments, and employee queries, including audit and compliance of expense claims. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Integrity and a strong sense of ethical behaviour.Experience in a Procure to Pay environment.Good understanding of finance systems.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with team management experience.Ability to operate at both detailed and managerial levels.Strong understanding of control and operational risk. Preferred:
Experience managing a team in a shared services environment.Additional language skills. Technical / Professional Qualifications:
Accounting or Business Administration qualifications.Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Oracle, and relevant Business and Accounting systems. Benefits:
