Description
- Lead and manage a team of accounts payable specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines.
- Review and approve payment batches, reconciliations, and vendor statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and implement accounts payable policies, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and operations, to resolve invoice discrepancies, address vendor inquiries, and streamline processes.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices related to accounts payable.
- Prepare accounts payable reports and analysis for management review and decision-making.
Profile
- Minimum of at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g., SAP, Xero, QuickBooks, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- May be working towards an accountancy degree
