CMA are currently working with a prestigious Southampton based business who boast a highly esteemed reputation both within the UK and internationally within their industry sector.  They are looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who can assist with driving process efficiencies across the business.  Managing a small team, you will be seeking to optimise capabilities across this area of finance and working closely with Senior Management to aid informed decision making. This is a hybrid role that will offer two days per week working from home.

What will the Accounts Payable Manager role involve? 


  • Improving the payables process to ensure that suppliers are paid accurately and within payment terms;
  • Motivating, coaching and appraising the Accounts Payable team;
  • Providing an excellent service to suppliers and to internal functions, including resolving queries by phone and email;
  • Managing the weekly payment cycle;
  • Developing a reliable forecast of payments by company, by currency, by week;
  • Overseeing intercompany reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations, ensuring that discrepancies are actioned promptly;
  • Assisting with financial projects including a system upgrade and implementation;
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations including VAT.

Suitable Candidate for the Accounts Payable Manager vacancy: 


  • Comprehensive understanding of how to create a world class Accounts Payable function;
  • Sound knowledge of the impact of Accounts Payable on financial reporting;
  • Firm grasp of the capabilities of finance systems and experience of systems upgrades/implementation is beneficial.
