Accounts Payable Lead

Overview
Our client is a global leading investment management company with over 1000 employees worldwide including 100 investment professionals currently managing over 15 billion pounds. The successful Accounts Payable Lead to manage the AP function, ensuring the teams workflows are optimal, liaising with stakeholders appropriately taking a client-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the face of Accounts Payable to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop streamlined workflows to mitigate the risk of failures, including efficient invoice triaging, tracking, and exception handling.
Establish and enforce service standards and protocols with a focus on a client-centric approach. Introduce best practices, monitor service-level targets, and ensure the smooth flow of workflows.
Demonstrate leadership and effective resource management by collaborating with Procurement and Corporate/Fund Finance colleagues. Manage escalations, provide direct team support, and foster staff development. Balance workloads, handle absences, and plan for medium-range resource needs.
Strategically manage working capital and forward planning, including just-in-time settlement, cash reporting, projection, and the oversight of long-term commitments, such as settlement diaries.
Lead projects, including the onboarding of the geographical processes and the implementation of straight-through system enhancements, such as Brightflag/Workday integration. Continue to drive ongoing enhancements and integrations for improved efficiency.
Key Requirements:
Extensive experience, including team management, within the financial services sector
Track record in running and evolving complex continuous-delivery operational workflows
Experience of control-focused monitoring and reporting including KPIs and proactive exceptions management
Experience of monitoring and reporting, such as KPIs and exceptions management
Understanding of key financial roles, such as AP and Financial Controllers.
