Job Overview:

Our client is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to develop a career in finance, as we are open to considering trainees. The role primarily involves providing essential support to our finance department, ensuring the smooth running of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing invoices, receipts, and payments.
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
Process supplier invoices and reconcile with purchase orders.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
Verify and process employee expenses.
Keep track of expense reports and receipts.
Input financial data into the accounting system.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Support in producing month-end financial reports.
Aid the finance team with various administrative tasks.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the efficient functioning of the department.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
Purchase and sales ledger experience.
Knowledge of Sage 50 would be highly beneficial
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Remuneration

Salary £12.60 - £13.00 (DOE)
Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:00 and Friday 07:30 - 12:30pm. 37 hours per week.
33 days holiday, including bank holidays.
