We are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to start in Gloucester on a part time basis (3 days per week) pro rata.

The main responsibility of an Accounts Assistant is to support the Directors with business accounting activities. This includes raising, sending and paying invoices, reconciling company accounts.

They also assist with basic administration tasks and should be on hand to answer any queries raised by staff or external clients or providers. They will be expected to help document and maintain the business’ finance procedures, updating and implementing them wherever necessary.

Daily tasks include:

* Xero Daily, Month end and year end

* Profit and Loss, balance sheet and cash forecasting

* Monthly reporting of profitability and cash.

* Manage AP and AR ledgers

* Work with the sales team, providing reporting and analysis where applicable

* Weekly and Month end Payroll preparation and submission to payroll.

* Invoice processing

* Supplier Statement reconciliations

* CIS completion, including sending supplier certificates of deduction

* VAT completion on quarterly basis

* Processing expense requests

* Year end accounts preparation for submission to the Accountants

* Cash book maintenance

* Banks reconciliation

* Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers

* Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing the mail, etc.

* Updating and maintaining procedural documentation

* Credit control for sales

* Any other duties the Directors agree from time to time

Accounts Assistant job qualifications, skills and experience

Accounts Assistant should preferably have a degree in one of the following subjects:

* Business Studies

* Finance

* Accounting

* Mathematics

* Economics

Experience with Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel etc.) and evidence that AAT, CIMA or ACCA studies are underway.

The following soft skills are also beneficial for this role:

* High level of accuracy

* Analytical skills

* Excellent communication skills
