Our client, a well-established manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team due to retirement. They pride themselves on their commitment to providing exceptional financial services and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering phone calls and addressing inquiries
  • Managing obligations to suppliers, customers, and third-party vendors
  • Processing bank deposits and receipts, liaising with our Group Head Office and Manager
  • Reconciling financial statements
  • Preparing, sending, and storing invoices
  • Contacting clients and sending reminders for timely payments
  • Submitting tax forms, such as VAT
  • Identifying and addressing discrepancies
  • Reporting on the status of accounts payable and receivable
  • Updating internal accounting databases and spreadsheets

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Administrator or similar role
  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software, particularly Sage
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel for financial formulas and creating spreadsheets
  • Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Experience using payroll systems, specifically Sage
  • Familiarity with calculating statutory contributions like pensions and National Insurance

- Accounting software: Sage and Microsoft Excel.
