Summary: The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing and optimising all tax-related functions for Europe region. Responsibilities for this role will encompass a wide range of tax areas, including VAT, Corporation Tax ensuring that tax risks are minimized, efficient processes are established to guarantee tax compliance. This role is to make sure reporting to HMRC is not only accurate but also delivered in a timely manner. This role also oversee tax compliance across Europe region, provide the wider finance team and business tax advice and is the main contact when advice from external tax consultants is required. What You'll be Doing Each Day: Reporting period ends
Preparation of monthly and year-end tax schedules and provisioning Maintain tax balances on general ledger Manage the tax element of the financial statement audit
Compliance
Manage UK corporation tax filing and payment compliance Manage and coordinate tax investigations and tax audits (if any) Review VAT and corporation tax returns for other countries in the region
Management
Manage tax exposures and keep changes to UK and Europe tax law as they impact the company Identify and mitigate tax risks for the company Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices Support for the legal team on tax issues arising from contracts.
Transfer pricing
Ensure transfer pricing compliance Improve and maintain TP documentation
Adhoc tax projects
Help with other tax requirements for the company including advising on tax impact of projects Preparation of the annual tax budget for the company
The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
Native level of Mandarin, with good command of English Qualified accountant (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns Proactive and motivated, able to show initiative and work independently Excellent time management skills, able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines Able to build effective and collaborative relationships Strong attention to detail Advanced Excel skills
