Account Manager - Manufacturing Industry



Location: Deans Industrial Estate, Livingston, EH54 8SE.

Salary: Competitive, DOE.

Contract: Full time, permanent.



We are looking for an enthusiastic, focused and driven Account Manager to join our External Sales team.



This role will involve working with existing customers and equally as important, gaining new business from new customers in qualified market sectors that fit the business needs.



The sales area will cover the East of Scotland territory and you will grow and develop existing accounts and identify new business opportunities. Using your consultative selling skills, listening to what the customer wants, you will build strong relationships with existing and potential customers by understanding their requirements and identifying appropriate packaging solutions.



Selling from our new, state of the art, manufacturing facility in Livingston you will work closely with your internal colleagues in sales, design, supply chain, production and logistics to ensure maximum operational efficiency and deliver the best possible customer service to meet and exceed your own and the companies' sales and margin targets.



Role and Responsibilities



•  To deliver SAICA Pack Scotland’s sales volume and margin targets for specified (existing and new) accounts

•  Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers

•  Own and manage the demand forecast for your accounts (linked to S & OP)

•  Provide support and advice in all areas of New Product Development  

•  Raise new customer enquiries as required on to our CRM system

•  Work closely with and fully support the internal customer service team, establishing a collaborative (Tandem) approach to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided at all times  

•  Develop and deliver account plans linked to our overall sales and commercial objectives

•  Develop and deliver the most efficient service and supply level agreements with your customer base

•  Manage and maintain our customer and potential customer database within your sales territory;   

•  Monitor and report on market and competitors activities to assist in the development of a sustainable and profitable business as well as our future investment strategy

•  Adherence to SAICA Pack Sales Systems and External sales KPIs including call rates, enquiry conversion rates and existing / potential customer visits to our Livingston production facility

•  Completion of the annual budget process (volume and price levels)

•  Manage and coordinate margin improvement / cost reduction initiatives

•  Support our production department to improve productivity through design changes as required

•  Deliver E2E business reviewed to identify areas of value creation for our customers, supported by our Technical Office and Innovation Project Manager

 

Skills and Experience



•  Full driving license

•  Highly motivated with a high drive to succeed

•  A proven track record of sales and business development - meeting and achieving targets, qualifying new business opportunities, managing internal relationships, developing and delivering high quality proposals.

•  Demonstrable sales experience within a manufacturing sector, within the packaging sector would be an advantage

•  Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities at a time whilst maintaining a sharp attention to detail

•  Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint)

•  Experience in delivering client focused solutions to the customer

•  Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels within the organisation

•  Flexible negotiation and excellent communication skills, attentive to detail with good strategic ability

•  Strong numeracy skills
