As an Account Director, you will be responsible for establishing a book of new clients and renewal portfolio, managing and providing a quality service, and meeting client demands and needs to achieve optimum profitable renewal retention rate and growth. How you'll make an impactManage client/prospect/introducer relationships and grow the book/existing accounts, providing the most appropriate insurance and risk management solutionsNegotiate with insurers to obtain terms for clients that accurately and effectively match customer requirementsManage own workload to effectively service client relationships and ensure placements are completed within client deadlinesEnsure client information and sales plans are kept up to dateProvide realistic plans and forecasts on customer performanceEstablish and manage a sales pipeline of potential clientsAnalyze and interpret sales data to identify unexpected patterns and trendsProactively seek out commercial opportunities and partnershipsPromote and sell additional applications and services to clientsInvestigate and discover new sources of profitable business for the Operating Division and Group as a whole, including cross-sellingWork closely with Account Handlers and Brokers to negotiate terms and conditions of placementsDeal with internal and external queries from colleagues or underwritersEnsure that premiums are paid in accordance with credit control requirementsCarry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and our company's shared values, with a focus on putting clients at the heart of our business About youQualifications: Cert CII/ Dip CII/ Advanced Dip CII (Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications) desirable. Educated to degree standard or equivalent is desirableTechnical Knowledge: Good knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry) products, services, classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own roleExperience: Previous demonstrable experience in an Account Executive or Broker role, comfortable working to targets. Tactical negotiation and influencing experience with internal/external stakeholders. Proven rapport-building experience with internal/external stakeholders. Evidence of effectively prioritizing risks to manage concurrent workflow. Able to identify potential problems and seek advice/consultation when required. Robust knowledge of client market and insurance industry network. Able to quickly grasp and interpret salient information to maximize growth opportunitiesSkills/Other: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Persistent and tenacious in achieving results. Proactive in lead management and follow-up. Authentic communication skills for varying audiences. Excellent planning and analytical skills. Deals with ambiguity. Comfortable and credible at decision-maker level. Self-motivated and motivates others to achieve.
