The role of the Account Director, Account Management is to partner closely with the Managing Partner to manage a portfolio of spirits accounts focused on integrated marketing (partnerships, talent & influencer, entertainment, PR/comms) inclusive of cultural strategy, internal engagement, social strategy, creative content development, account management and activation.The role requires a strong, senior account lead who can deliver innovative thinking, author smart decks, troubleshoot client and team issues as well as oversee the financial health of the business from team utilization to client procurement management.Location: New York City (hybrid)Salary range: $115,000/yr - $125,000/yrResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Oversight of a portfolio of brand accounts in partnership with Executive Director and Smarts US President.Create and maintain strong client relationships across the brand and with partner agencies.Work alongside leads of the speciality practices (Strategy, Influencer/Talent, Culture, PR/Earned Media, and Experiential) to bring best-in-class thinking to every client assignment.Develop and lead innovative thinking for each client/brand while infusing Smarts’ unique POV, award-worthy programs, and high-quality execution/management.Be a leading and proactive voice during inter-agency meetings by representing Smarts and leading all Smarts-owned workstreams alongside client PR and digital agencies.Oversight and management of the account’s financials alongside the team Business Manager including budgeting, staffing (planning and utilization), SOW development and client procurement process.Ongoing business development and growth within the portfolio based on key client relationships, opportunistic pitches, ideation, and overall quality/health of the business.Team management including the personal development of 2+ direct reports via career pathing, goal setting and ongoing mentorship.Experience & Qualifications:At least 7+ years of experience relevant to the role and industry with strong work examples and references demonstrating an exemplary account lead who can maintain positive client relationships, deliver strategic council, and successfully troubleshoots client and internal issues.Experience with multi-faceted/integrated campaigns, and comfort leading senior client conversations and within an IAT setting is imperative.Must have relevant experience in the talent & influencer marketing space and knowledge of social/digital marketing.Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and lead with a balance of big-picture thinking and tactical acumen.A keen understanding of financial and operational performance of multiple sizable accounts to ensure quality work, deadline, and budget adherence.Ability to command a room as a dynamic speaker with strategic credibility fuelled with analytical insights.Superior written and verbal communications skills along with the proven ability to consistently make sound judgements and effectively motivate and manage teams.Strong collaborator and mentor with the ability to bring out the best in agency talent and resources to produce great work for clients.Passion for pop-culture/insights and trends, especially in the spirits space.While spirits experience is not required, it is strongly desired.Smarts is one of the UK’s largest consumer PR and content agencies and we’re growing.
