The health communications team at Four is looking for an experienced and effective account director to join their expanding health team working across communications, patient advocacy and public affairs.As an independent agency we offer the opportunity for free thinking, communications and medical education planning, driving and pitching new ideas to clients delving into communications and public affairs to drive behaviour change in health.Four is a full service agency offering the successful candidate the additional benefit of collaborative working with creative and PR teams across multiple sectors, to grow knowledge and experience across the full marketing and communications spectrum.The role will involve media relations/PR, disease awareness, data communications, patient advocacy programmes, influencer engagement, research and medical education across a variety of audiences including healthcare professionals, policy makers, patient charities and patients themselves. Our key client sectors are a mix of global, European and UK-based organisations and span ‘big pharma’, small biotech, med tech, patient charities and the NHS itself.Who are we looking for?We’re looking for someone who has clear thinking and scientific analysis - an experienced senior professional with the ability to develop and deliver targeted, creative comms programmes, which reach a range of audiences (HCP, patient, etc.). You will have a passion for engaging with a range of audiences, be highly professional, an effective team player and have the ability to lead teams to deliver strong work for clients. The ideal applicant will have a science qualification and/or a passion for health and science communication.About you…Ideally the candidate will have around six years’ experience in healthcare comms, including agency experience,a track record of working within the highly regulated area of pharmaceuticals / biotech / medical devices in the UK and EUAble to assist in the development and implementation of strategic communications programmes for clientsExcellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to express ideas clearlyGood interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a teamCreativity and ability to generate ideasGood organisational skillsVery good attention to detailPassionate about communication and ambition to develop new skillsAbility to manage time effectively, prioritise and meet deadlinesExperience directing and delivering client programmes across a variety of social and digital channels, working well within and as part of a wider agency teamYou can effectively and efficiently deliver flawless client programmes which meet the client’s objectives along with your teamYou understand the client’s environment, can identify what is important to them and prioritise accordinglyExperience of devising and delivering strategic communications programmes in response to the client’s briefExperience of developing and submitting proposals for new and existing clients, with associated budgetsExperience of handling data comms for clients at key brand milestone moments, including developing and implementing media strategyKnowledge of the relevant codes of practice surrounding medicines in the UK / EUEquality and diversity statement:We are proud of our diverse community at Four and are committed to reflecting the diversity of the world in which we live. Across all offices and locations we give staff the ability to decide where they work for much of their week.To ensure we retain the best levels of teamwork and on-the-job learning we ask staff to be ‘on-site’ either in our office, with a client or at an event for at least two days a week.
