Job Title -
Cell Lead (Foundation Development Phase) Coach
Responsible to:
Head of Coaching & Lead Phase Coach
Build Relationships with
Internal:
Academy Manager, Head of Coaching, Lead Phase Coaches, Coaches (Part Time), Heads of department, First Team staff, Player Care Manager and Players.
External:
Premier League clubs & Football League clubs, FA, Universities/colleges, FAYCD, and PFA.
Salary:
Based on knowledge and experience
Job Description
Working Pattern and Work base:
Full time (35 hours)
Flexible approach to working hours required
Required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends, on bank holidays and public holidays.
Required to work across different bases
Travel:
Regular travel to fixtures and training bases
Overall purpose of the job:
To enhance the football and holistic development of the players in the foundation development phase. Manage the technical and tactical advancement (individual and team) of the players in conjunction with the relative age group coaches.
Responsible for the detailed holistic planning and implementation of individual learning plans in line with club coaching and playing philosophy.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Personal Development
Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in relation to all aspect of your role is up-to-date and forward thinking:
Complete club CPD and FA qualifications as part of your on-going development action plan
Coaching Curriculum, Playing and Coaching Philosophy
Deliver the academy’s coaching curriculum in line with the academy’s playing philosophy and coaching philosophy
Design and implement an age-appropriate programme and schedule that maximises the academies resources and provides maximal opportunity for players to practice, develop and learn.
Lead the on grass delivery of session and games
Games Programme
Support the lead phase in designing a varied and consistent games programme
Maximise playing minutes and opportunities
Individual Learning Plan Design and Delivery
Utilising the MDT design and deliver ILP’s using the four corner approach
Lead using an MDT approach to enhance each individual performance on and off the grass
Manage player transitions into and from the cell (player handovers, inductions, player signings, transition across a player journey)
Feedback
Complete and deliver feedback to staff and players/parents in line with the clubs processes and protocols
Manage Staff
Manage other part time/casual coaches in the cell to deliver the Foundation Development programme.

Person Specifications (Essential)
Qualifications
UEFA B Coaching Licence
FA Advanced Youth Award (or working towards)
Safeguarding and Protecting Children
Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
Required Experience
Experience of working in at least 1 of the following roles:
A football coaching role
A mentoring/coaching role
Knowledge and/or experience of at least 3 of the following:
The process of learning in young people (pedagogy)
Running and designing development programmes
Football coaching
Sports Psychology
ICT experience of PMA, excel, word and any other software as required to carry out the duties required for the job.
