I'm working alongside a rapidly growing IT Managed Solutions provider, looking to expand their team with a few new Support Engineers, varying from 1^st Line up to the 3^rd Line/Senior team. The IT team already consists of around 150-200 people across multiple office locations in the UK. With the team size and various roles within the team, there is a real scope for progression through the ranks, especially with the rate the company is growing! We are happy with welcoming a 2^nd line with a few years' experience, looking to transition into a 3^rd line role, while the same applies for a 3^rd line transitioning into the Senior role.
Please note the Senior IT Engineer will need to have a car and clean licence for travel (all petrol used for travel to client sites will be expensed).
There is little difference between the 3^rd Line and Senior Engineers; whereby the Seniors are more accountable, will be involved from start to finish with company projects, and have much more travel to client sites. As one of the 3^rd line Support Engineers, you will act as the escalation point for the 1^st and 2^nd line teams, while working closely with the Senior Engineers to deliver the mentioned projects. All in all, it's a great chance to work with a variety of technologies daily, working individually but also collaborating with the wider team to deliver projects!
Great exposure to the Windows servers (12/16/19), Microsoft Office 365, Azure and AWS Cloud, networking experience (Firewalls, Switches Routers etc) and Virtualisation technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) will be an essential, with it being desirable for you to have some Powershell or other Scripting exposure.
