Job Description3rd Line Field Engineer – MSP – Manchester - £40KMy client is a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) specialising in providing comprehensive IT solutions to businesses of all sizes in the science sector. Many of their clients are life science companies that are heavily involved with drug research. They pride themselves on delivering top-notch services tailored to their clients' needs, ensuring optimal performance, security, and efficiency in their IT environments.We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3rd Line Field Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a crucial component of their technical team, you will be the go-to technical lead for issues regarding to client networks, servers, the M365 stack, cyber security, and third-party services. In addition to service escalations, this will also involve providing advice on new project inquiries, customer introductions, new service designs, and technical consultations for new customers.Skills:*** Strong foundational knowledge of network connectivity principles, including TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewall security principles.*** Familiarity with routing protocols such as MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF, and the ability to troubleshoot Layer 3 issues.*** Experience with VMware vSphere 4/5 & Hyper-V.*** Proficiency in backup management, including installation, monitoring, and issue resolution.*** Expertise in Windows Server OS (#####,#####6#####19), Microsoft Exchange, SQL, and Active Directory.*** Knowledge of Microsoft solutions, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune, as well as SharePoint.*** Deployment experience with cybersecurity solutions such as MFA, encryption, and antivirus.*** Experience providing support for third-party applications, such as finance packages, CRM solutions, and ERP solutions.Essential Requirements:*** Must have worked for at least 5 years as an IT Field service engineer in an IT support company, i.e. not as an in-house support engineer.*** Good A Levels/BTEC with Grade C or above in Maths and English.*** Professional qualification such as MCP/MCSE certification.*** Valid driving license, with own car which will be expected to use for client site visits.*** Excellent written skills must be able to demonstrate report writing skills.*** Able to work flexible or extended hours if necessary.Benefits:*** Hybrid working model.*** Salary up to £40,000, depending on experience.*** Regular reviews of performance.*** 20 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).*** Contributory pension scheme.*** Excellent learning and training opportunities.*** Excellent development opportunities.*** Free parking.*** Mobile phone allowance*** Mileage expenses.3rd Line Field Engineer – MSP – Manchester - £40K
