Interview date: End of April / Early MayAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the hospitals Cancer Services team and play a pivotal part in the delivery of high quality, timely cancer pathways. This role will be the Operational Lead, working alongside the Lead Cancer Nurse and Cancer Clinical lead to ensure a high quality service is provided to patients referred to specific cancer MDTs on an Urgent Suspected Cancer referral.You will be responsible for monitoring the trusts operational performance against the cancer national standards, working closely with all the services to ensure patient pathways are streamlined to support timely diagnosis and improved patient outcomes.You will co-ordinate and support the delivery and continuous improvement of, integrated cancer care within BHNFT and across the Barnsley community and wider SYB& ND Cancer Alliance.If you are interested in this post and would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact John Crossland, Email:##### Shaun Garside, Email:##### alongside Multidisciplinary Teams to optimise the cancer patients journey and provide robust tracking processes which maximise pathway outcomes and patient experience.This role is key to the local implementation of national, regional and local strategies for cancer supporting clinical and operational teams through the provision of expert knowledge, improvement actions, information and data.Main duties of the jobThe Lead Cancer Manager will be responsible for delivery of the cancer agenda across the organisation - aligning with national, regional and local cancer priorities and interdependencies. They will provide leadership and strategic direction on cancer related issues ensuring national Cancer Waiting Times targets for the Trust are met.The post-holder will play a pivotal role as part of the Trusts Cancer Management Team and will be responsible for the performance management and reporting of cancer related standards and targets maintaining robust validation processes and adherence to national guidelines.Working in collaboration with the Macmillan Trust Lead Cancer Nurse and Consultant Clinical Lead for cancer - the post-holder will be responsible for driving pathway developments that result in high standards of patient experience and performance.
