The Role: Project Manager - Environmental Consultant

Responsibilities:

• Delivering top-notch environmental consultancy services and managing environmental incidents and planned investigations to support clients in asset management.
• Supervising emergency response works, geotechnical and environmental site investigations, and remediation strategies to address contamination in the environment.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all project stages, including clients, contractors, and homeowners.
• Collecting field data, such as soil, groundwater, and vapor samples, for subsequent laboratory analysis.
• Maintaining high standards in logging soils during investigations and adhering to best practices.
• Preparing health, safety, and environmental documentation, including risk assessments and method statements, while reporting H&S near misses and positive observations.
• Producing factual and interpretive environmental reports that are technically sound and commercially focused.
• Participating in business development activities as a technical advisor and managing key clients.

Requirements:

• Degree in a relevant earth science or geo-environmental discipline.
• Relevant experience in managing environmental incidents, contaminated land surveys, and site investigations.
• Hands-on experience in managing geo-environmental projects for site redevelopments, acquisition, and disposal.
• Working knowledge of key guidance and standards, including Land Contamination Risk Management (LCRM) and BS10175 Investigation of Contaminated Sites.
• Proficient in logging soil and rock in accordance with BS5930.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, and self-motivation to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Sound knowledge of current and emerging environmental legislation, guidance, and best practices.
• Membership in a relevant professional organization.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
