Dunbar Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a vibrant and forward-thinking primary school in their search for a dedicated Year 6 Teacher. Situated in Milton Keynes, our partner school is committed to providing an enriching and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are seeking a talented Year 6 Teacher who is passionate about education and dedicated to making a positive impact on young minds. As a pivotal member of the teaching team, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that promote both academic achievement and personal development. With a focus on preparing students for their transition to secondary school, you will foster a culture of curiosity, resilience, and independence within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Year 6 students, ensuring progression and attainment in line with national curriculum standards.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed.
  • Provide targeted support and intervention for pupils who require additional assistance, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to promote the holistic development of every child.
  • Prepare students for the end-of-year assessments, including SATs, by implementing effective revision strategies and exam techniques.
  • Foster a love of learning by incorporating a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technology into your lessons.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6.
  • A thorough understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks, including SATs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a proactive approach to creating a positive learning environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in further training and learning opportunities.
