Welder/Plater

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plater/Welder to join our clients team based just outside of Darlington. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy fabrication, particularly with mild and stainless steel, and will be proficient in reading technical drawings and executing high-quality welds using MIG and TIG processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret and work from engineering drawings to fabricate and assemble steel structures.

*

Perform MIG/MAG welding on mild steel components, ensuring strong and clean welds.

*

Comfortable with various machines and tools, including press brakes, CNC plasma cutters, and overhead cranes.

*

Maintain a high standard of workmanship and adhere to health and safety protocols.

*

Collaborate with the fabrication team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

*

Proven experience as a plater/welder in a steel fabrication environment.

*

Proficiency in MIG/MAG welding techniques. TIG Desireable.

*

Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

*

Familiarity with operating fabrication machinery and tools.

*

Relevant certifications in welding and fabrication are advantageous.

A competitive salary package commensurate with experience. £18.00 per hour basic hours. Overtime available. Currently working Monday to Friday (Half Day Fridays) possibility to move to 4-day weeks.
