URGENT VACANCY: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 6 Pupil)
Start Date: Monday | Sylvester Primary Academy

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at Sylvester Primary to work 1:1 with a Year 6 pupil starting Monday.
This is a temporary role with the potential for extension, ideal for someone experienced in supporting upper Key Stage 2 pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil, both academically and emotionally

Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans and interventions

Foster independence and confidence in preparation for transition to secondary school

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team

Monitor and report on progress and wellbeing
The ideal candidate will:
✔ Have experience working with KS2 pupils, ideally Year 6
✔ Be nurturing, patient, and proactive
✔ Understand the needs of children with additional or specific educational needs
✔ Be able to start immediately and commit to the role consistently
