We're on the lookout for a caring and dedicated Trauma-Informed Teaching Assistant to join our brilliant team in Exeter. This full-time role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about helping children who’ve faced tough times to feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting students one-to-one and in small groups, helping with both learning and emotional needs
• Creating a calm and nurturing space using trauma-informed approaches
• Helping children build their confidence, manage emotions, and develop social skills
• Working closely with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to put the right support in place
• Helping to plan and deliver tailored lessons and resources
• Keeping track of progress and feeding back to the wider team
• Using positive behaviour strategies to support students with any challenges
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children or young people (bonus points if it's in a trauma-informed or SEN setting)
• A good understanding of how trauma can affect behaviour and learning
• Loads of patience, empathy, and a positive, can-do attitude
• A team player who communicates well with both adults and kids
• A genuine passion for creating inclusive, supportive classrooms
Even Better If You Have:
• First-hand experience working with children who’ve experienced trauma or adversity
• Knowledge of trauma-informed strategies and techniques

Pay: £87 – £95 a day (depending on experience)
