Job Summary:

Dynamic family run Freight Forwarders with over a 35-year history are seeking a Trainee Customs Clerk to join them in their office in Witham

We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic individual with either 1-2 years experience in Customs or someone with excellent data inputting and customer services skills who wants to learn about Customs

Role and responsibilities

* Prepare and process accurate and timely import customs declarations and clearance.

* Liaise with operations departments.

* Monitor mailbox and handle tariff/entry queries as required.

PROPOSED TRAINING SCHEDULE
Initial training will begin on LCL consol entries including:

* Customs training on Tariff Classification, Valuation, CPC’s, PVA etc

* Claiming UCN’s

* Sequoia ASM

* Monitoring Clearances

* Customs holds and processes.

Training will then proceed on to include more in depth and cross training in more complex entries and processes including:

* Port health holds and processes

* CHEDS

* Organic shipments

* Bond/IPR Entries

* EU Entry processes

* FCL Entries
