Our client, a key player in London's Public sector, is seeking a meticulous Traffic Order Maker to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves significant responsibility in ensuring the proper drafting and implementation of Traffic Management Orders, complying with governmental statutory procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and making experimental and permanent Traffic Orders
Conducting consultations with statutory consultees, emergency services, members, and other stakeholders
Advertising proposed and finalised Traffic Orders as per regulations
Working with the Council's legal section to formalise Orders
Handling technical enquiries and liaising with organisations such as the Police
Ensuring compliance with procedure regulations and monitoring correspondence progress
Maintaining records and managing administrative duties such as filing and photocopying
Supporting Traffic Engineers with traffic-related matters, including small parking scheme designs
Conducting public consultations on small parking schemes and reporting findings
Maintaining and updating PARKMAP database and Map Explorer for Council use
Updating Traffic Orders to reflect legislative changes
Performing additional duties within the scope of the role as required
Job Requirements:
Experience with Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO)
Understanding of governmental statutory procedures for Traffic Orders
Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder consultations
Proficiency in handling technical enquiries and administrative duties
Ability to maintain and update databases such as PARKMAP
Competence in drafting legal documents and formalising Orders
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
