Our R&D team are looking to appoint a Test Technician. The candidate for this role will be familiar, or keen to learn, data logging/data acquisition, operating complex test equipment (training will be provided) and documenting such results. Working within an expanding R&D team, you will test new and existing concepts and products. Based on the outskirts of Edinburgh, this role is pivotal in the development of future components and devices.

At Sunamp we are on a mission to transform the way we generate, store and use heat in our homes and businesses, to help us all make a significant impact on climate change. To do this, we develop and manufacture heat batteries which use phase change materials to provide heat and hot water.
Our best-selling Thermino range of heat batteries are manufactured in Scotland and replace hot water cylinders to deliver fast flowing hot water on demand. So far, over 25,000 heat batteries have been installed in homes across the UK and in other parts of the world, cutting fuel costs and carbon emissions for residents.
Some of the areas you will be involved with:
Operating test equipment with new and existing concepts and products
Documenting results to the standard set by senior Test Engineers
Run test campaigns automatically and manually
Proactively identify quality issues
Propose improvements to testing technologies, methodologies and procedures
Verify Sunamp products software features, compatibility, and performance, through robust and stable test criteria’s
Analyse test results and prepare test summary reports
Understanding of test methodologies and UK and International standards that relate to the product under test, for product compliance and performance criteria’s
Who we are looking for:
The right candidate will be able to provide demonstrable evidence and talk in detail about their skills, experience, knowledge and understanding across the following criteria;
Able to learn (train will be provided) how to commission and log a multitude of sensor types (flow, temperature, pressure and more)
Use of Microsoft Office application to generate reports and perform data analysis (excel)
Plumbing and Electrical practical hands-on skills
Able to learn basics of Data Acquisition Systems (data logging)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Adaptability and readiness to challenge existing practices and find alternatives
