The successful Technical Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the day-to-day technical performance and compliance of a modern offshore vessel fleet
- Leading the shore-based engineering team and coordinating third-party contractors and suppliers
- Supporting crews with real-time technical advice and overseeing defect resolution and preventative maintenance
- Managing MARAD PMS, technical drawings, critical spares, and warranty tracking on new builds
- Planning and executing docking periods, yard visits, and internal audits
- Attending client and Class/Flag meetings, and advising on marine regulations, ISM, SOLAS and MARPOL compliance
- Contributing to accident investigations, risk assessments and wider safety and compliance initiatives
- Supporting the DPA function and Emergency Response Team as a key contact in live vessel emergencies
We’re looking for a Technical Manager with:- A degree or equivalent in Marine or Mechanical Engineering – candidates working towards qualifications will also be considered
- At least 3 years’ technical management or engineering experience within the marine sector
- Strong knowledge of vessel systems (propulsion, electrical, HVAC) and statutory compliance (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL)
- Experience liaising with Flag, Class, and Recognised Organisations – ideally within offshore or transfer vessel settings
- A collaborative, people-focused approach with confidence managing teams, suppliers, and audits
- Familiarity with Caterpillar engines, PMS systems (e.g. MARAD), and managing warranty processes
