JDS Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Barking & Dagenham area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.​

Position Details:

* Location: Barking & Dagenham

* Job Type: Full-time, Long-term Agency Worker

* Start Date: Summer Term

* Working Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

* Rate of Pay: Competitive daily rate​

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist the teacher in delivering curriculum-based lessons.

* Support individual and small group sessions.

* Monitor and report on student progress.

* Provide general classroom support and assist with behaviour management.

* Help create a positive, supportive learning environment for students.​

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Experience working with children, particularly those with challenging behaviour.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* A positive, patient approach to working with children.

* Ability to work well as part of a team.​

About the School:

The school caters to up to 40 students aged 11 to 16, many of whom have been excluded from mainstream education due to emotional or mental health issues. It offers a smaller, more nurturing environment to support their academic and personal development, helping them either transition back into mainstream education or prepare for their post-16 choices. Additionally, the school provides a Home Tuition Service for students unable to attend due to physical or mental health issues.​

This is a full-time, long-term agency position offering an excellent rate of pay.​
