We’re offering a unique maternity cover position for the 2025/26 school session, supporting young people aged 14 and above with Complex Additional Support Needs in a small group teaching setting.
This isn’t your typical teaching role. Here, education is deeply personal. You’ll be helping young people who have experienced significant challenges to reconnect with learning, build confidence and develop vital life skills. In a therapeutic and nurturing environment, you’ll create bespoke learning experiences that help each individual feel valued and capable. You’ll have the space to build strong, trusting relationships, and the time to truly tailor your teaching to each learner’s needs.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely believes in the potential of every young person. You’ll be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and have experience working with children or young people with additional support needs or a strong desire to gain it. Your approach will be warm, relational and inclusive, with a good understanding of how trauma, neurodiversity or other barriers can impact a young person’s experience of education. You’ll be someone who brings calm, consistency and empathy into the classroom.
