Job Title: Supply Chain Planner

About the Role:
A dynamic business within the consumer goods sector is seeking a highly organised and analytical Supply Chain Planner to support the end-to-end coordination of materials and finished goods. This role is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring product availability to meet customer demand.
Working closely with commercial, operations, and procurement teams, this role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and strong Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and manage inventory for a portfolio of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring alignment with stock targets and customer demand.
* Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to maintain strong communication and timely deliveries.
* Develop and update demand forecasts in coordination with commercial functions.
* Monitor stock health, identifying risks related to shelf life, overstock, slow-moving, or obsolete items.
* Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring lead times and forecasted needs are factored into all buying decisions.
* Work closely with manufacturing teams to plan raw material usage and finished goods conversion.
* Support product lifecycle management, including product introductions and phase-outs.
* Provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers regarding stock status and material availability.
* Maintain system accuracy with up-to-date planning and supplier data.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning efficiency.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in a supply chain or planning role, preferably in the food, FMCG, or manufacturing sector.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to manage both supplier and customer interactions.
* Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas) and good working knowledge of ERP or planning systems.
* Detail-oriented with a structured approach to managing data and solving supply issues.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
* Degree or relevant qualification in supply chain, logistics, or business.
* Experience working with major UK retailers or manufacturing environments.
* Exposure to international supply chains and demand planning tools.
