Structured Cabling Engineer - Permanent Position - Oxfordshire
Job Overview
Our client is looking for an established structured cabling engineer in Oxfordshire to join their fibre and data cabling installation team.
Immediate starts available.
Full UK driving licence is essential and you will preferably live within commutable distance of Oxford.
Works van will be provided for Nationwide travel as and when the projects require.
Starting salary £25k PA + Company Van + Holidays. We will be considering candidates at all levels so get in touch to discuss what you're looking for in your next role!
Role
Installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of structured cabling and its systems (CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, CAT7), predominantly in commercial and public sector environments
Installation of fibre optic cabling
Effective communication with company teams, customers, and contractors, to ensure harmonious project completion
Utilise variety of testing methods (including mod tap and fluke testers) to report and identify existing faults
Conduct site surveys for new cable routes and equipment installationQualifications
Demonstratable understanding of industry standards such as ISO/IEC (phone number removed):2017 and ANSI/TIA-568
Familiarity with CCTV and AV systems, VoIP technologies, electrical systems, hand tools, network installation, access points, NOC teams, computer hardware, Avaya systems, equipment repair, and Ethernet configurations is advantageous.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
CSCS/ECS is a minimum requirement.
Datacoms, cable installer, or network infrastructure disciplines are all advantageous.Desirables
